Assessment & Diagnosis
Ideally, proper and thoughtful assessment and evaluation takes place before treatment is recommended or commenced. Unfortunately, many people avoid this step by picking a therapist and therapy approach prior to arranging and participating in an overall assessment. Psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis encompass careful consideration of all aspects of medical history, stressors and current life situations and relationships (the Biological-Psychological-Social-Spiritual Model) for the evaluation of mental health needs and treatment planning.
Dr. Pazdral undertakes the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the full range of mental health problems including:
Problems that originate in brain chemistry;
Problems that are part of medical illness, conditions or disabilities;
Problems that originate in childhood experiences;
Problems related to early environmental influences;
Problems related to job, career and relationship problems;
Spiritual and religiously based difficulties;
Character difficulties (cumulative effects of chronic poor decision-making or family engendered lifestyle choices).
